Please help 40145 run again.
On September 4th 2010. 40145 suffered a traction motor flashover near Grantham whilst working the CFPS's East Lancs Explorer Railtour from Rawtenstall to Cambridge. (Pictures above show the engine and main generator being removed from 40145, January 2011) The locomotive went to Barrow Hill in early November 2010 for repairs to the affected traction motor and have other repairs completed whilst there. Unfortunately the main generator was also found to have a serious problem with it and this will necessitate the main generator to be removed from the loco. This involves the power unit being removed from the loco and the main generator then being separated from the power unit. The generator will then be sent away for repair. This work cannot be done by our engineering team and has to be done commercially and will cost a vast amount of money. Therefore the CFPS is trying to raise a considerable sum of money so 40145 is returned to full working order and is back on the mainline where she belongs.
We therefore URGENTLY need funds to pay this project so PLEASE DONATE in the following ways:
Please help us to get our locos running again. Thank you for your support.
