D335 will be working the Diesel Diagram at The East Lancs Railway this Saturday, February 11th.
PLEASE NOTE, a new timetable commenced at the turn of the year.
The first train departure from BURY to Rawtenstall is now 20 mins earlier than its been for some years.
It NOW departs at 09.30 hrs.
Please do try to support the Class 40 running Days at The ELR..
The ELR have been brilliant to us since D335 returned from Barrow Hill last July. The loco has enjoyed several outings and has earnt us much needed income.
Lets repay the favour and show that D335 can bring in the revenue for The ELR.
Further to the info stated on Jan 18th.
The Mid Norfolk Railway have accepted the CFPS quote for the appearance of D335 at their event on March 31st and April 1st.
They have now also accepted the quote from Martin Walker for transit costs using 55022 to haul D335 and for his Deltic to also appear at the event itself.
Both locos are now confirmed as attending the MNR subject to any unforeseen circumstances occurring.
It is anticipated that the 2 locos will leave the ELR on Thursday March 29th and return from Norfolk on Monday April 2nd.
The NEXT scheduled FXP utilising D335 will be on Friday April 20th, on a PASSENGER train.Thereafter it will be on Saturday 15/09/12 hauling a FREIGHT train and then on
Friday November 9th ( the day before the AGM ) hauling a PASSENGER train.
If any of these FXPs appeal to anyone, please let me know and I will liase with The ELR on your behalf.
regards
John
The CFPS have agreed for D335 to attend The Mid Norfolk Gala on March 31st and April 1st. Deltic 55022 has also been invited to attend and hopefully will haul D335 from, and back to the ELR.
Whilst The CFPS have agreed a hire fee with the MNR and to to its attendance in principle, no movement costs have yet been quoted from the selected TOC, Therefore D335s attendance is subject to the as yet unknown movement costs being accepted by The MNR and agreement being reached between the and Martin Walker.
The CFPS are very happy for D335 to attend The MNR and should it do so,it is very likely to be the locos only outing away from The ELR this year.

John
The Scafell Pike Challenge
Following on from last year’s successful climb of Mount Snowdon a team has come forward to carry out a Sponsored Climb of Scafell Pike, which at 978m or 3209ft is the highest peak in England.
The Mount Snowdon Team of Andy Walton, Karl Crowther, and Louise Redgrave, are being joined by Nigel Walton, and Paul Richardson, who has climbed the mountain before, and so is able to contribute very useful knowledge about routes and the conditions to be expected.
This is a much more demanding Challenge than Mt. Snowdon due to both the inaccessibility of the mountain and also the terrain involved. It is estimated that the Team will be covering about 15 miles on the day as well as climbing the mountain!
As last year, all Members, their friends and families are invited to Sponsor this expedition to raise funds towards the upkeep of our locos. Paul’s suggestions of £40 for a 40 or £1 per 40.145m (around £25) are still applicable, but any amount will be much appreciated. You can pledge Sponsorship by contacting me at fundraising@cfps.co.uk or by sending a cheque to my home address listed inside the front cover of the Whistler. Alternatively, there is an option to donate via the Paypal button on the CFPS Website here
Last years effort raised over £1400. Please help us to make this event at least as successful as last year!
A Happy New Year to everyone.
